How We Started...
Grace and Grit: Health & Healing Thru Horse Human Partnerships
is an incorporated nonprofit organization as of August, 2022 and recognized as a tax-exempt 501(c)3 nonprofit as of November, 2022.
Our program positively impacts horses, children, adults, and families.
We are located within the Northwest region of Minnesota in Erskine on a 40-acre farm that houses a 36x72 barn with run in shed, and an attached 60x120 foot indoor arena. There are indoor and outdoor round pens and a 27-acre fenced pasture using a 4-strand smooth wire system.
The Grace and Grit: Health and Healing Thru Horse-Human Partnerships horse training and horsemanship programs have evolved from over 50 years of education and experience in the equine industry. We originated from a traditional horse training and horsemanship program that focused on breeding, raising, training, and showing quality horses. Over time, we were grateful to notice and receive qualitative evidence from people on how ‘happy’ our horses appeared to be as well as testimonials from new owners purchasing horses. We also received feedback and observed the positive psycho-social-emotional impact the program has had on the humans through their partnership with the horses and the continued growth and development of the horses as they interact with a wide range of people.
